Paw Paw and Nina visit Newnan

At the end of July, my dad and his wife, Carol, drove up from Florida to visit with us. This was there first trip to Newnan to be with us since moving. We had so much fun visiting with them, sharing our new house, and celebrating a special little boy’s birthday. What a great little weekend. My heart was full after they left. I love having family so close.

Our mornings were very simple and relaxing. We spent most of our IMG_2216mornings sitting on the back deck drinking coffee, grilling sausage, watching the kids play and catching up. Probably my favorite time of the weekend (next to celebrating Levi’s birthday.) Sometimes it just the very simple things that are more satisfying.

Yes, while Paw Paw and Nina where here, we made sure to celebrate Levi’s birthday, which was just days away. This party had a robot theme (aka Transformers). He knew we had purchased cup cakes. Throughout the day, he kept asking for them. We told him after dinner (mean parents!). Well, after dinner he went up to his room. So, real fast,I set up the cupcake tree, cupcakes, the candle and the party plates. Ryan called Levi down for his “surprise!”  Levi was sooo excited. As we sang his little smile grew bigger and bigger. He even cheered and clapped after blowing his candle out. Levi enjoyed sharing his cupcakes with Paw Paw and Nina. This was the first of two celebrations.

Shelby really took to Nina. She would just talk and sing with her.

Saying good bye wasn’t easy. We’d had such a wonderful visit. The kids love being with Paw Paw and Nina so much. Levi thinks Paw Paw hung the moon and he had a little trouble saying good bye. I’m thankful for this time and look forward to our next visit
