Levi’s 3 Year Old Stats!

I can’t believe MY BOY will be 3 years old on Friday. On my goodness….must.stop.time!! I wish it was that simple, but I know it’s a part of life. The last time I posted “Levi’s Stats” he was almost 2.5 years old.
Age: 3 years old
Height: 40 inches
Weight: 41 lbs.
Favorite Food: Chicken nuggets, especially those from Chick-fil-a. Fruit, cheese, burgers, peas, and cookies.
Favorite Book: Little Max the Cement Mixer or “The Concrete Book” as Levi calls it. Other favorites are the Sea Life board book and any Clifford The Big Red Dog book.
Favorite TV show: Jungle Junction, Oso, Caillou, and Clifford the Big Red Dog. Or anything with big machines, planes, boats or tractors.
Favorite DVD: Ratatouille (AKA: The Cooking Mouse), Horton the Who (AKA: The Elephant Movie), Digger and Dozers Might Machines, Hillsong live worship for Kids, Leap Frog Letter Factory and Max Lucado’s Milo the Mantis Who Wouldn't Pray.
Favorite Shirt: Orange tractor shirt or his green Toy Story Shirt.
Language: Levi had a language explosion during June. Within in a week he went from choppy phrases to sentences. He has also started to express emotions verbally. “I had fun” and “Levi is sad/hurt/happy!” One of his new phrases is “I like it!”, which is said in this southern twang with excitement! Then on Monday this week (August 2nd), as I was buckling him into his car seat at Wal-Mart, he looked at me and said, “I love you!”—MELT.MY.HEART! First time he’d really spontaneously said that.
Personality: Outgoing, happy, friendly, caring, a helper and funny. Loves to say hi to everyone. Enjoys helping others—holding doors, cleaning, picking up toys, putting away laundry, bringing us stuff when we’re busy with Shelby just to name a few. He finds pride in helping care for little sis.
Favorite Places to Go: Going to school (when in session) or Church is still a favorite. As well as Eating at Chick-fil-A. This summer, the pool and the Y have been popular. Plus, he’s always ready to take a trip to Pump It Up—an indoor inflatable jumping place.
Favorite Toys: Tractors, Dump Truck, Fire Engine, Ambulance, Cars and Garbage Truck. He enjoys making lines with all his cars and trucks. He also likes hauling loads and dumping things. Mommy’s pots and pans are still very popular as well. He also likes taking a group of toys and barricading himself in a small, tight space. For example, the corner of the room, around furniture or in the closet.
Levi is also known for carrying around a toy/object or group of objects for a day or several day. He’ll have interest in one or two items and they’re his focus for the rest of the day. He takes them in the car, to the grocery store, out side and will even try to put them in the bath if I’m not paying attention. This fascination can last from one day up to a week. Recent “favorites” have been the cell phone, the camera bag, his tiny elmo (its about a 2” tall), and one of my headbands.
Sleep Habits: Morning comes around 6:45 and 7:15. Everyday he has “quiet time” in his room from 12:30-2. On most days he does nap during this time, but in the past month he has also been forgoing his nap more often. We’re in the process of training “quiet time”—how to rest, read and play quietly while everyone else has “quiet time”. On non-nap days, bed time comes a little earlier--7:15. He’s usually out in minutes! Tired boy!! He still wakes once or twice at night asking for a sip of water.
Big Brother: Levi loves Shelby. The older she has become the more enjoyment Levi finds in spending time with her (she’s 5 months.) He loves making her laugh and smile. He hams it up for her all the time. He also enjoys playing along side her on the floor and showing her how to work all her toys. He likes to push her in the stroller and help feed her cereal too. I already see the “big protective brother” in the making. He is quick to run to her aid when she’s fussing or crying. He’ll “shhhh’s” her while patty her (like mommy does), or give her a toy or try to make her laugh. He’s quick to ask where she is if he doesn’t see her. I love that there’s already a bond happening between them, that he cares for her and loves her so much.
Favorite Activities: I would say, watching the Garbage truck every Monday and Thursday is a pretty big deal at our house. On garbage day, if we’re still sleeping and he hears the garbage truck, he’ll shout to let us all know it’s coming! He goes out front to watch. The garbage men wave at him and on most days honk their horn. Levi LOVES when they honk! He then watches them go house to house until they are out of sight. Because of the way our street is laid out the truck drives down and then comes back up the street, which provides him with a second opportunity to run out and watch. We live for garbage days!
Another favorite activity is when people come by to visit…be it family, our friends or a neighbor. He loves welcoming them at the door, showing off his latest item of interest and hugging or high fiving when people leave.
Mommy Time: Enjoys painting and cooking with mommy.
Daddy Time: Enjoys playing soccer and trucks with Daddy.
