Several weeks ago, one of the mother’s from the kids’ school told me about a deal the Atlanta Aquarium was running. Thanks to this great little tip, we were able to take a family trip to the aquarium this past week.
The aquarium was so amazing. The kids were amazed by the size of some of the fish and other sea life they saw. I loved watching them take everything in with such amazement and joy! At times they were overcome with excitement and would point and talk loudly. At other moments, they stood quietly studying and observing the fish as they glided through the water. I love watching my kids take in the world around them. I love all their little questions and desires of wonder. Childlikeness—It’s refreshing, joyous and contagious!
I think by far, our favorite exhibit was the large Ocean Voyager exhibit. We all stood in awe of the huge whale sharks, manta ray, and larger than life grouper! Just beautiful. Shelby enjoyed chatting it up with the grouper. Levi could not stop talking about whale sharks.
The penguin habitat in the Cold Water Blast exhibit was enjoyed by all. Cute and friendly little guys. As Shelby was observing them, one little guy walked right over to her. They had a fun little conversation.
We ended out time at the Aquarium with the AT&T Dolphin Tale Show. We had to wait for a while to see it, but it was worth the wait. We loved watching the dolphins swim, play, and dance. Our seats where pretty close and we had a great view of the show. Shelby is still talking about the dolphins dancing and waving good bye. Sadly, we were not allowed to take pictures of the dolphin show. But I will leave you with this bit of information and a video. When the AT&T Dolphin Tale Show opened at the aquarium AirTran Airways created a specially designed plane, now known as Dolphin 1 (click on “dolphin 1” to see the video).
